By plane

Québec City’s airport (YQB – Jean-Lesage international airport) is the closest airport. However, participants can also consider and compare plane tickets to Montréal (YUL-Trudeau airport) which are usually more affordable. Be advised that Montréal is approximately 250 km from Québec City. This distance is to be travelled by car, bus or train.

From Montreal to Quebec


For transportation to and from Quebec City from Montreal, Orleans Express is the bus company that offers the service. It costs about 40$CAD one-way. There are three bus station in Québec City (Sainte-Foy, Université Laval and Centre-ville, the latter is the closest one to the Château Frontenac).


There is also a train that travels from Montreal to Quebec City for 40$CAD each way. There are two train station in Quebec City (Gare de Ste-Foy and Gare du Palais).

The public bus system of Québec city stops at the airport every 30 minutes.

The réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) offer many parcours. The cost is 3,50$CAD (in cash and the exact amount).


There are several companies in Québec City. Taxis can be identified by the sign on their roofs.

Immigration documents

Visit the canadian government website to see if you need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). For instance, French citizens will be required to have an eTA which costs 7$CAD.
